What’s new?

What’s happening guys? Still pushing play everyday? I sure hope so! To me, this is the best time of the year to workout since it’s so nice outside.  As a bonus, it’s grillin’ season so slap some chicken breasts on the fire. I love cooking 8-10 at a time for ready-made lunches for the week. Can’t beat that!  This time of year also seems to provide extra motivation with beach trips and other outdoor activities.  But, it’s also really easy to get lazy and stop doing workouts this time of year for the same reasons.  There will always be something else more exciting to do than workout and eat clean and that’s why it’s important to remember why you started in the first place. So what do you do when you’ve slipped up and missed a week of working out or eating poorly? No worries! You can either pick up where you left off in the program or start completely fresh (which if you’ve missed a week or more is what I recommend). Also, don’t forget to keep tracking your food intake. You hear it all the time, but abs are made in the KITCHEN! Just be sure to ask yourself what changes you need to make to prevent future slips. If you haven’t been slipping with workouts and nutrition keep up the good work!

Regardless of what group you find yourself in, commit to putting in 100% this week. I promise, the results will speak for themselves!

A little quick update about my current fitness plan.  As you may know, my wife and I have been doing Body Beast and we both love it! There’s nothing like getting in a great lifting workout and feeling the pump.  As a plus, the workouts aren’t terribly long either, especially in the second phase (Bulk).  We did take a “rest” week last week because we were at Disney World for our 2nd anniversary. It wasn’t much of a rest though with all the walking!  This past weekend, we ran the Warrior Dash.  I was a little nervous about how I would do with my shoulder impingement coupled with the week off of working out.  I did way better than I expected and thankfully there weren’t many obstacles that required overhead lifting.  My wife will continue on with Body Beast this week, but sadly I won’t be doing it with her.  Lately I have been having lots of trouble with my left shoulder (some kind of impingement) which is causing most upper body movements to be poor.  So instead of sacrificing form, I will be rehabbing my shoulder and doing the Ultimate Reset and will keep you guys posted on how it goes.  After that is finished, hopefully my shoulder will be completely healed and ready to start Body Beast again.

Anyways, keep up the good work gang and CRUSH this week!
