Getting Started!

Just-Start-Pixlz-1024x660The key to success is knowing where to start! So how do you get started to ensure yourself the maximum results?

First, decide on a fitness program and get a Coach!

If you can’t decide on a fitness program, just know that there is something for everyone! You can start jump right into something extreme like Focus T25, P90X, and Body Beast  or go nuts with something like Insanity, Asylum, or P90X2! Descriptions for these programs as well as others can be found on the “Fitness Programs” tab. The best way to start is to just pick a program and press play or you can try Beachbody on Demand FREE for 30 days (only $2.99/week after) and stream your workouts right from your laptop, phone, tablet, etc.

Second, pick your equipment!

Some workout programs don’t require any equipment, like Insanity and Turbo Fire! Other resistance programs like P90x, X2, and Body Beast will need some resistance bands or dumbbells. Resistance bands are cheap and can give you great results (Carl Daikeler used just bands and achieved unbelievable results). You can even use resistance bands in place of a pullup bar! I like dumbbells and am currently using Bowflex Selecttech 552s (Powerblocks work amazingly well also).

Third, you need to document everything!

In the words of Tony Horton, “how do you what to do if you don’t know what you did!”  Keep track of your workouts! And don’t forget to take your before measurements! You only get one shot to witness your transformation. Document everything, especially your nutrition! Getting the results you want requires strict attention to nutrition. My coach has written huge amounts of information on nutrition and that information can be found here. Be sure to track your nutrition with an app like MyFitnessPal!

Last, you need to PLUG IN!

One of the biggest keys to succeeding is to plug in and stay accountable with others doing what you are doing! That’s why it’s so important to be on a team! Have a group of your friends join up and push each other! We at team Fellowship of Fitness provide each other with the encouragement, support, and drive to BRING IT!

Know that this journey is not easy, it’s HARD! Pressing play everyday is TOUGH! Eating clean is NOT EASY! Like the old adage, “When the going gets tough, the TOUGH get GOING!” That’s what separates the SUCCESSFUL from the rest, the mediocre from the EXTRAORDINARY!

So get ready, I expect to see RIDICULOUS results from everybody on this team!
