Ran my first legit 5k today. I’ve ran other 5k’s, but they were obstacle/mud run races, not true road races. It was a blast! I can tell a huge difference in my overall fitness compared to last year. Since this time last year I have lost 40 pounds through P90X2, some Insanity Asylum, T25, and Body Beast. I’m truly in the best shape of my life. I was able to really push myself and put in what I think is a reasonable time of 27:21. I ran it with a fellow Team Beachbody coach Corey Rice. It’s always great to have someone there to push you and motivate you. My goal now is to improve on my 5k PR and to eventually work my way up to a half-marathon. But for now it’s time to set my focus on preparing for the Spartan Sprint on March 23rd and I think P90X3 along with some supplemental running is going to really get me going.
