That quote seems a little outlandish, but it is not far from the truth, especially when it comes to poor nutrition. I’ve been reading “The Compound Effect” by Darren Hardy and it is a tremendously helpful book. It discusses how little activities completed over time compound to a really extraordinary result. Take for instance, someone who drinks ONE soda per day (we’ll take 5 days a week for workdays). That’s 140 cals/day,  700 cals/week, 36,400 cals/year. IF water were substituted for this daily habit you would lose over 10 lbs. in a year just by drinking water instead!!!

What we think of as inconsequentional can have dramatic effects on our lives. Next time you think about making a poor nutrition decision ask yourself, “Would I rather have this              or lose 10 lbs. immediately?”  You must begin to think ahead and make decisions based on where you would rather be instead of on how you think it will make you feel right now.
